These dies extrude shapes that can be used to weave baskets out of clay strips. Each die makes different width strips, so you can have different widths for the basket, rim, and handles. The dies fit in most 4" square wall-mounted clay extruders including: NorthStar, Bailey, TA Metal Works, and the Amazon generic model.
The four patterns on each die are identical, so you can produce strips to weave faster.
The raised ridge around the top of the die prevents clay from oozing out sideways, as sometimes happens with square extruders.
Extrusion Dimensions: The "three strand" die makes a strip 3/4" x 1/4". The "four strand" die makes a strip 1" x 1/4". The "five strand" die makes a strip 1 1/4" x 1/4".
Die Dimensions: The die is 4 3/4" x 4 1/4" and 1/2" thick.
If you happen to also have a 2" handheld extruder, you might find these basket weave dies for 2" extruders useful. With them, you can practice weaving baskets without cleaning the large extruder.

The die and cutter are 3D-printed using PLA filament. PLA is a plastic made from starch (not petrochemicals) and is compostable in industrial composters.
It is the same material used to make compostable eating utensils.

Care information
To clean, remove as much clay as possible. Let remaining clay dry completely. Soak in water and brush with soft-bristled brush. Not dishwasher safe.
