This die extrudes three shapes that can be used to weave baskets out of clay strips. It produces strips that are three, four, and five "strands" wide. A blocker is included to block off the other two sizes. The die fits in Bailey 5" clay extruders.
For each strand size, there are two extrusion holes. You get two strands of a given size, so you can weave faster.
Extrusion Dimensions: Each strip is 1/4" thick. The three-strand strip is 3/4" wide; the four-strand is 1" wide; the five-strand strip is 1 1/4" wide.
Die Dimensions: The die is 5" x 6" and 1/4" thick.

If you happen to also have a 2" handheld extruder, you might find these basket weave dies for 2" extruders useful. With them, you can practice weaving baskets without cleaning the large extruder.

The die and cutter are 3D-printed using PLA filament. PLA is a plastic made from starch (not petrochemicals) and is compostable in industrial composters.
It is the same material used to make compostable eating utensils.

Care information
To clean, remove as much clay as possible. Let remaining clay dry completely. Soak in water and brush with soft-bristled brush. Not dishwasher safe.
