This die extrudes a shape that can be used to weave baskets out of clay strips. It is four "strands" wide. It fits in Bailey 5" clay extruders.
The six patterns on the die are identical, so you can produce strips to weave faster.
The low wall around the top of the die prevents clay from oozing out sideways, as sometimes happens with square extruders.
Extrusion Dimensions: Each pattern is 1" x 1/4".
Die Dimensions: The die is 5" x 6" and 1/4" thick.

This die is also sold as part of a set of three basket weave dies for the Bailey 5" clay extruder.
If you happen to also have a 2" handheld extruder, you might find these basket weave dies for 2" extruders useful. With them, you can practice weaving baskets without cleaning the large extruder.

The die and cutter are 3D-printed using PLA filament. PLA is a plastic made from starch (not petrochemicals) and is compostable in industrial composters.
It is the same material used to make compostable eating utensils.

Care information
To clean, remove as much clay as possible. Let remaining clay dry completely. Soak in water and brush with soft-bristled brush. Not dishwasher safe.
